Randall-Paulson Architects has been a significant factor in the recent expansion of Walgreens. The firm has completed 17 of the 30 stores in the state of Georgia and several other stores throughout the Southeast. These are full service prototypical projects and are varied as needed for local context. While the building design is generally predetermined, considerable project management time and capability is required to keep up with the frequent changes of Walgreens dynamic program.
Three prototypical Walgreens’ designs and various exterior finishes have been utilized for these stores. The buildings are free standing and usually feature one strong, glazed, corner tower element. Another of the prototypes features more towers and sloped canopies. Prototypes are either EIFS or brick.
Each store includes special
