Randall-Paulson Architects designed this new 345,000 sf office and medical product and service facility (MPS) for Cardinal Healthcare, a national pharmaceutical company. Surgical supplies are assembled in plastic totes for use in operational procedures. The large assembly and warehouse area is supported by a 2-story office component. RPA worked together with The Conlan Company as a member of the design/build team.
The 22,000 sf office component consists of three open workstation areas, private office areas, conference rooms, training room, locker area, restrooms with showers, and breakroom for over 100 people. The divisible breakroom is equipped with audio visual features for meetings and training purposes, as well as TV viewing during breaks.
The MPS facility is 32' high with a 42' high L.U.M. (Low Unit of Measure) - a computerized storage and retrieval system run by an automated crane. The large L.U.M. comprises about one quarter of the building.
