The Suzuki School
Atlanta, Georgia • 18,200 sf

To express Suzuki’s devotion to creating an inspiring learning environment for children, Randall-Paulson Architects worked very closely with them to design an education center that cultivates development and learning from within. This innovative facility not only houses the program, but acts as a teaching tool through leading edge concepts and incorporation of the latest child development research.

This renovation introduced new design elements to compliment the existing modern structure, built in 1967. The new aluminum storefront and new EIFS façade at the entry acknowledges modern art, which was prevalent at the time of the existing building’s construction. A bright red sail canopy contrasts the straight lines of the existing architecture and adds excitement to the front entry.

A fully integrated interior enhances the learning experience with harmonizing colors, forms, and patterns. Touch and sound are also introduced through tactile panes with varying textures and wind chimes representing the sounds of nature. The environment aims to stimulate all of the senses.
