BeanTree Learning
Ashburn, Virginia • 20,916 sf
Highly focused on education BeanTree Learning provides stimulating environments for the social, mental and physical development of children from infant and preschool age to after-school care. The school features nine curriculum rooms including library, music, art, P.E., and computer classrooms.
The center of the school is a themed and interactive “Global Courtyard” that communicates whimsical and lively global experiences. This international theme is communicated through building facades featuring varying international architectural styles defined by detailed millwork. The windows of these facades feature hand-painted murals reflecting architectural landmarks and other vignettes unique to a particular country. The design concept responds to Washington D.C.’s international community, provides visual interest and serves as an educational tool. Additional international flare includes a mosaic world globe on the center of the courtyard floor and the display of flags from the children’s countries of origin. Corridors reflect the world’s geography through aquatic, artic, and jungle murals.
Randall-Paulson Architects provided complete interior design services.
