ProLogis will develop a business park in Buford, along I-985.
The company has recently acquired 42 acres about 30 miles northeast of Atlanta's city center. The development will be called ProLogis Friendship Business Park. It will ultimately have about 500,000 square feet for distribution, office space, and other uses.
“Given continued economic growth in the northeastern suburbs, we believe there will be strong demand for modern distribution facilities from small- and medium-sized enterprises looking to enhance and streamline their business operations,” said David Welch, ProLogis first vice president and Atlanta market officer.
The initial phase of development at the park will consist of four facilities ranging from 80,000 square feet to 142,500 square feet.
Construction will begin in the second half of 2006. ProLogis will concentrate sales and marketing efforts on businesses requiring between 20,000 and 30,000 square feet. The company will also pursue build-to-suit projects.
“The size increment we’ve targeted is 'bread and butter' for Atlanta and is becoming harder to find in newer product,” Welch said.
ProLogis Friendship Business Park is located near the intersection of Atlanta Highway and Friendship Road, just off I-985.
