RPA Celebrates its’ 15th Year

As RPA celebrates its’ 15th year, we thank our clients and partners for contributing to our success. Here’s a look back at some exciting RPA milestones:

1993: RPA founded by Michael B. Randall and Alex S. Paulson.

1994: RPA moves to its first dedicated office space in Papermill Village and the staff evolves from two owners to a full staff of nine employees.

1995: After a Christmas Eve phone call at the end of ’94, design begins on the first project with a global industrial developer, the beginning of a 15 year + relationship that brings RPA all over the country to design office and light industrial facilities.

1996: The firm hires its twentieth employee, marking the start of tremendous growth to come.

1997: The Ray-Ban flagship store, a collaboration between RPA and an international design firm, is named Retail Store of the Year after its big opening for the Atlanta Olympics.

1998: The firm moves into the Historic Roswell Mill featuring century-old timbers and an expansive deck overlooking Vickery Creek and RPA’s new logo and first website are unveiled for the 5th anniversary.

1999: James L. Musgraves becomes a Principal of the firm. John Carruth and Leslie Carruth join the team, bringing a depth of education and religious project experience.

2000: RPA completes an 850 seat sanctuary and education facility for Roswell Presbyterian Church, the first phase of a 10 year master plan.

2001: RPA completes the firm’s first million square foot distribution facility for Unilever in Carlisle, PA.

2002: Design of a new 63-acre downtown core for Winter Springs, FL incorporates green spaces in creating a “new urban village”.

2003: After Mount Paran Christian School opens to rave reviews, it is quickly named one of the “Best Christian Places to Work in the United States”.

2004: The addition of a Graphic Design studio gives clients the option of signage, branding, environmental graphics and other comprehensive design services.

2005: Design for high-end childcare center BeanTree Learning expresses a global feel for the international clientele.

2006: Murray Arts Center at Mount Paran Christian School, RPA’s first performing arts project, opens as the Cobb Symphony Orchestra’s new home and wins a Brick Institute Award.

2007: RPA commits to a sustainable outlook, with a new “green” team, several LEED projects, and high goals for staff LEED accreditation.

2008: After passing the 50-employee mark, the firm completes a third office expansion, adding 7,500 sf of growing room for an increased staff.
