Don't Reinvent the Wheel - part 2
Another set of problems that have simple solutions are phantom loads and miscellaneous electric loads (MELs). What are they and how do they apply to this issue? Well, a phantom load is energy loss from an appliance or gadget in standby mode or not in use. Just being plugged into the power circuit can cause energy losses. Major appliances such as refrigerators, washing machines, and ranges are prime contributors to phantom load losses.

The Square
Last summer we launched an idea that just seemed like fun at the time. We put an office lunch date on the monthly calendar with the simple plan of giving our staff a forum for sharing any subject the employee finds interesting, cutting edge, new, or exciting. We call these brown bag lunches the Square.

Bethany Primitive Baptist Church
Celebrates Groundbreaking

Bethany Primitive Baptist Church celebrated the Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new 11,810 SF Sanctuary and Fellowship facility on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Excitement about the new building, the beautiful semi-rural site, and a fortunate day of fine weather made for a very special day in the life of this congregation. The church leadership, member families, project manager, contractors, and architects were all in attendance.

Project Spotlight: Northport LEED Silver
Northport Logistics Center, an 872,627 SF distribution center, was designed for, and has recently achieved, the designation of LEED Silver Certification by the USGBC. The site is strategically located 2.5 miles from the future Mitsui Container Terminal and 3.5 miles from the Blount Island Marine Terminal. This 75 acre development provides excellent access to I-295, I-95 and Jacksonville International Airport.
