Project Spotlight:
Bethany Primitive Baptist Church
Celebrates Groundbreaking

Bethany Primitive Baptist Church celebrated the Groundbreaking Ceremony for its new 11,810 SF Sanctuary and Fellowship facility on Sunday, January 31, 2010. Excitement about the new building, the beautiful semi-rural site, and a fortunate day of fine weather made for a very special day in the life of this congregation. The church leadership, member families, project manager, contractors, and architects were all in attendance.

This church has a distinguished history of worship and community that reaches back to 1926, first in Atlanta, then in Tucker, and now in Forsyth County, Georgia. Randall-Paulson Architects was awarded design of the new building early last Fall.

The building style is a blend of gothic and craftsman features that utilize brick masonry and stone accents. A light tower near the entry provides a welcome glow to passersby on the street beyond.

The plan is a highly efficient layout that incorporates Gathering Space, Sanctuary, Fellowship and Pastor’s Suite. The light-filled Sanctuary will seat over 250 people in fixed pews in a radial arrangement around the pulpit. A flexible room off the Gathering Space can be used by brides or to help with young children.

Future plans include development of an outdoor courtyard accessed from the Fellowship Room.
