This development has been reconfigured into an updated neighborhood center with a 45,000 sf Publix and adjacent retail shops. With the demolition of a vacant grocery store and new facade for retail stores, designers developed a contemporary upscale character through a distinctive entry tower and architectural accents using color and brick detailing.
The center tower element features translucent clerestory windows. Warm tones and materials coordinate with the contemporary scheme.
Demolition activities uncovered an unexpected challenge. Substantial amounts of subsoil were unsuitable for use below the new construction. Re-planning was required to accommodate new development budget constraints.
