Church Sanctuary and Classroom Facilities

Roswell, Georgia • 48,000 sf

Randall-Paulson Architects served as Associate Architects for the new sanctuary structure completed in the summer of 2000. The lead architect was Barber & McMurry of Knoxville, Tennessee.

Due to proximity and authorship of the master plan, RPA was asked to play a vital role in the programming, planning, coordination, and construction administration of the new facility.

The church building more than doubled the existing square footage of the church campus and complimented the 1840 vintage historic sanctuary that continues to be used for worship on a weekly basis. The project included:
   • 850-seat sanctuary with balanced
      natural acoustics for music and
      the spoken word
   • 14-classroom preschool for use
during the week and on Sundays
   • Eight adult classrooms around a
      central narthex atrium/
      gathering space
   • A fireside room/bride’s room and
      history room for special functions
   • Rebuilding of the annex to the
      historic sanctuary to provide
      accessibility and support spaces
   • Expanded 200-car shared parking
      lot with new highway entrance
   • New central courtyard planned for
      future phase connections
      and expansion
