Roswell Presbyterian
Church Education and Fellowship Facilities

Roswell, Georgia • 67,300 sf

The new addition and renovation of the Congregational Life Building (CLB) at Roswell Presbyterian Church marks the successful completion of the church masterplan, which Randall-Paulson Architects began in 1996. This final phase included a 43,300 sf addition and a 30,400 sf renovation for the education, fellowship, and office activities. Previous phases included an expansion of the sanctuary, classrooms, and parking.

Planning for projected growth to 3,500 members from the current 2,200, RPA worked with the church to update earlier masterplans. Decisions were made to remodel and expand the existing CLB and replace an antiquated Education Building.

The design provided for a net gain of 36,900 sf for a total complex of about 121,000 sf. Special considerations have been made to respect the spirit of the 1840’s vintage historic sanctuary.

The project included a new youth wing with assembly areas, renovated gymnasium with a new 400 sf stage, and breakout classrooms as well as 13 new classrooms replacing the outdated Education Building. A new dual-use Fellowship Hall with partitionable assembly-size adult classrooms allows for flexibility, and the renovated CLB expanded the adult classrooms and church offices. Integrating the various components, the new “Main Street” corridor brings logical circulation to the campus, and the completion of the courtyard and colonnade connect all the buildings on the campus.
