1,298,700 sf

One of Randall-Paulson Architects’ largest projects, Kimberly-Clark distribution center totaled a whopping 1,298,700 sf after expansion. This cross-dock tenant facility is located in Building 100 of the Southport Logistics Center park.

After a short amount of time in their new space, the client desired to expand the building and add an additional 339,300 sf for increased capacity. The new addition created a few challenges for designers. Because the building was occupied, they first fenced in the project site area. RPA coordinated closely with the structural engineer to create a truss system to support the drive aisle openings in order to provide the client with a continuous flow of product between the existing building and the expansion.

Among other unique features, Kimberly Clark contains 36'-0" clear height, offset entry panels with highly reflective blue glass, as well as 477 dock positions (including 219 with dock levelers). Despite its massive size and distinctive design, this fast track project was completed in only 9 months time.
