To better utilize their existing space, Randall-Paulson Architects developed a conceptual design for the renovation of Georgia State University’s Child Development Center.

In keeping with Georgia State’s leading-edge educational programs for college students studying early childhood education, this design retrofitted an inefficient, inflexible space to an open, exciting space that encourages interactive learning. The design uses light, color, and movement to capture and hold the children’s interest.

The program includes kindergarten rooms for classes and activities, toddler and infant rooms, indoor and outdoor play areas, a kitchen for preparing meals and snacks, administrative offices, and meeting areas. The multipurpose room is used for science/discovery and is shared by all.
